Working in my grandparents drive-in restaurant years ago, I learned the secret to making a great sandwich.
Ingredients are key to this success. Fresh French bread from New Orleans. Slow roasted prime rib basted in its own juices. Vine ripened tomatoes. Fresh shredded lettuce, mayo, dijon mustard…I think you’re getting the picture (or at least the idea I love roast beef sandwiches). This works for me. I didn’t start out liking all of those ingredients, but I eventually added them as my taste developed.
Now my youngest son, he’s altogether different. Meat and Bread. Nothing else. This works for him.
One day, like I did, he’s gonna start adding the fresh lettuce, tomatoes and other great ingredients that makes that sandwich work.
A social media marketing campaign for a particular business is very similar. Your business might not need a Facebook FanPage, Twitter account, Google+ page, LinkedIn profile, 2-3 daily posts, etc, etc. You might need to start with just the meat and bread.
The main key to your success is to start. Pick a social networking platform. Study it, Use it and prefect it. Then as needed, add another and another.
Find someone to help you build your social network. Your partner, your wife, your child prodigy that spends 12 hours a day on social networks. There are thousands of websites and people on the web to help you build that perfect social media marketing campaign.
Continually grow your community…one ingredient at a time.
